Why did we start Breeding?

Diesel.jpg

Diesel right here is the reason why we started breeding Rottweilers. He wasn't a famous Rottweiler, he wasn't a champion, he wasn't a son of a champion, he wasn't even a registered Rottweiler. Diesel was our first Rottweiler we ever owned. He opened up a new world to us by experiencing his passion, devotion, and love. He showed us so much throughout the years, that the Rottweiler breed became our new favorite. We have owned a few breeds throughout our life time and Diesel surpassed those breeds and dogs by miles. Diesel is our monument to our kennel. He is no longer with us in this world, but he left a mark on our lives; a mark that makes us continue on with what he taught us.

On our farm, we used all kinds of breeds. Border collie's, Lab's, German Shepherd's, and a few others. We really liked how German Shepherd's worked on our farm. They did everything that we wanted in a dog. We owned that breed for 13 years. After our last girl (Keysha) passed away, we decided to look for something different (if it was for the best). After searching through breeds, we kept on coming across the Rottweiler. We did our research on the breed (temperament, heritage, reputation, etc.) and then we decided to look for a Rottweiler. In April of 2012, we found Diesel. He was bred from a lady in Drayton Valley, AB. We drove 6 hours to meet the litter and Diesel came running to us. We always said, "Diesel picked us, we didn't pick him". It all began after that moment (it was a life changer). "he wasn't a famous Rottweiler, he wasn't a champion, he wasn't a son of a champion, he wasn't even a registered Rottweiler". Diesel was much more than fame, champions, and registries. Diesel really did open a door to a new world.

With honoring our boy, Diesel, we honor his breed. We will strive to better this breed, to reach the full potential of this breed, lastly, to offer everyone an opportunity. Von Ackerland Rottweilers wants the opportunity to pass onto you what Diesel passed onto us, a life changing dog, a Rottweiler.
